I joined Tesco Underwriting in the summer of 2014 after 2 and a half years working for another general insurance company. Having applied for various other jobs, I found the application process for Tesco Underwriting the easiest and most efficient. I was asked to do an online test and as soon as I submitted that, I was invited to an interview the following week. The interview was challenging and fair at the same time. What I really liked was the fact that the company took their time explaining the role, the structure and the atmosphere around the team. This really made Tesco Underwriting stand out from all the other interviews that I attended.
Having lived in Leicester my whole life, moving down to Reigate was a massive change for me but TU made sure I felt comfortable when making the transition. They recommended places to stay and even the different forms of commuting. A nerve-wracking situation was turned into a really simple one and now I feel completely at home in my new environment.
I work in the Motor Pricing team setting and analysing the rates that our customers receive. My job is to make them as competitive as possible whilst also ensuring that the company meets its targets. The people in the Pricing team are all great to work with and always up for a social after hours.
I really like the fact that Tesco Underwriting look after their employees. There are always random treats going around, whether it be advent calendars at Christmas or Easter eggs during the spring.
Overall I believe that TU is a brilliant place to work and I would recommend it to anybody who would like a new challenge in a warm and friendly environment.
